Six Added Minutes

Hello dear reader. Yes, we're back with another of our rare little non-match related interludes, where we remind you that we can in fact read the written word and don't simply enjoy publications containing mainly images, adult in orientation or otherwise. That's right, it's another Gandermonium book review. And this time it's an even rarer treat for you as we're looking at a publication relating to something fairly close to our own hearts. Sutton bloody United of course! Because we just don't talk about them enough on here.

Woodbines & Offal

It would be fair to say that my old man never really understood vegetarianism. He was an advocate of the old-school principle that everything from an animal’s arsehole to its snout was all fit for the pot. There used to be a stall in the long-lost , and long-lamented,  Sutton Indoor Market where you could get offal of every description. Trays of assorted guts would be lined up wobbling and shimmering under the strip lights.

Come On Everybody!

We're always moaning, amongst other things, about the draws the FA decide to lumber us with in their competitions. The reasons for this are simple. We're miserable bastards and the FA keep making us go to Hemel fucking Hempstead. Thankfully however, this year they've been way more generous.

Vegan Football

It seems that the most traditional starts of the season under Our Lord Dos is a defeat. In fact you have to go back nearly six years ago and to the Ryman League to see us avoid defeat against Concord Rangers with a boring 0-0 draw and even further back to a Mr Payne opening day hat-trick against Margate for a win. But like where we've played Havant twice in succession on the first away match of the season, you have to go no further that look at the fixtures from the 99/00 season to see who would be our first away opponents again. None other than Forest Green Rovers.

A Game & a Half... - One (& a bit) from the archives

So much for setting this shit up and leaving it to Juan and Dukey to talk bollocks to you all. More rain and yet another postponement which means another trudge to the Archives for Taz.

Still, this one should be a bit of a treat. I realised I'd not yet touched on our disastrous Conference National season in 1999/2000 on here yet. So I pulled the files and set about reliving the misery of that campaign to try & pick out a vaguely usable report. In the course of this, I stumbled upon our abandoned first visit to Forest Green Rovers and soon after, the report of the re-arranged game. I know, I'll publish both!
